Luka's Taproom and Bar located at 2221 Broadway in Oakland, Ca. Luka's has alot of events during the week, most being free during the week. On the weekends it's $5 before 10pm so, that's still not bad. They have a steady rotation of musical sounds and rhythms so, check the link here for the calendar. Conga Lounge

  So, I wanted to start this blog so that I could post info on free and cheap places to go around Oakland and the Bay. So, here we go!

  The Conga Lounge located above Cafe Rustica at 5422 College ave. in Oakland. The Conga Lounge has happy hour everyday from 5-7 with $2 bomb a** mai tais, beers, and appetizers. Come the weekend it's party time! Every Friday is World Friday featuring music from around the world. Every first and third Saturday is Reggae Night featuring Djs Selecta Riddim and Dj Tropic playing roots, dub, lovers rock, and dancehall reggae. The second Saturday of the month is Noche Latina featuring music from  all over latin america. The last Saturday of the month is 80's night featuring a wide array of music from that era and a prize awarded for the best 80's outfit. DJ Tropic is the resident dj, hours are10pm-2am and no cover or dress code. 21 and over.
